Den Fair 2016 has come and gone but what a truly amazing exhibition it was! It showcased a selection of the best in contemporary furniture, design, lighting, textiles, soft furnishings, home product design and homewares.

With a strong focus on local emerging and established brands, Den Fair also incorporated international original designer brands targeting interior designers, architects, stylists, decorators, specifiers and many of our favorite retailers. It was inspiring to see so much local talent under the one roof and we saw some amazing new collections, furniture pieces and even some inspiring lighting.

We particularly loved seeing a new slew of bespoke pieces by small design firms and one-person operations such as Wood Melbourne who impressed us with original taps produced from concrete and reclaimed timber. Planet wowed us with their sophisticated, stylish and unique timber lighting and furniture pieces. Ilanel, a Melbourne based lighting designer, intrigued us with their unique designs combining lighting with pot plants and Mark O’Ryan who bases his stunning pieces on Australian landscapes.

On the whole, a very enjoyable intersection of materials and artefacts, showcasing fine craftsmanship and encouraging industry diversity.
