When people think about polished concrete floors, they often think of the negatives – cold, industrial and in particular, noisy – rather than the positives – versatility, longevity, low maintenance, economical, beautiful.

Comdain Homes has recently designed and built a home with polished concrete floors, high ceilings, and floor to ceiling feature glass walls and windows. Coupled with minimal furniture, the design called for a solution to combat noise reverberation and echoes.

A key point when building the home was to ensure we had a solution to improve the acoustics throughout the home without compromising the overall style.

This was achieved through the use of Gyprock’s Perforated Plasterboard in Standard 6mm Round for the ceilings, which created a smooth, stylish and clean design with excellent acoustic properties.
